Custom Attributes

Custom attributes can be created at two levels:

  • Project level
  • Module level

There are the following types of attributes:

  • Text: A single line of text, up to 128 characters in length.
  • Markdown: Multiple lines of text that can be formatted.
  • Number: A numeric value, which can be an integer or a decimal.
  • Choice: A predefined list of choices.

You can also define to which elements the attribute is applicable. However, Tracelane does not enforce strict restrictions if the attribute is applied to other elements. Instead, it displays warning signs next to elements if the attribute is marked as required but not set.

Project attributes are applicable to all projects. They can be defined in the Project Settings.

Module attributes are only applicable to the module on which they are defined. You can create them by right-clicking on the module and selecting Edit Attributes.
